When you are looking for a scooter that is stylish, fuel-efficient, reliable, and doesn’t cost too much, the Suzuki Access 125 is one of the best options in India. This scooter has earned a reputation over the years for being dependable and practical. Suzuki, being a Japanese company, already has a strong name for producing durable two-wheelers, and the Access 125 continues that legacy.
The design is clean and simple, and it appeals to almost everyone – men, women, students, office-goers, and even senior citizens. It is lightweight, easy to handle, and perfect for daily use, whether it’s commuting to work, going to college, or running household errands. Personally, I have ridden this scooter, and I can say that it feels comfortable, smooth, and reliable on city roads. It also gives a decent mileage; I personally got around 54 kmpl, which is quite good for a scooter in this segment.

1. Engine – Reliable and Refined
The Suzuki Access 125 comes with a 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine. This engine produces enough power for city commuting and occasional short highway rides. It is not a racing engine, but it is smooth and refined, which is what you need for everyday use.
The engine delivers around 8.7 PS of power at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This means you get enough pick-up to overtake easily in traffic and a stable performance on open roads. Suzuki’s engines are known for their reliability, and this scooter is no different – you can expect years of trouble-free service with proper maintenance.
2. Mileage – Excellent Fuel Efficiency
One of the biggest reasons people buy scooters is fuel efficiency, and the Access 125 performs very well in this area. It offers 50–55 kmpl in real-world riding conditions, which is perfect for daily commuting.
For someone who travels 30-40 km a day, this scooter will save a lot of money on fuel. In my personal experience, I consistently got around 54 kmpl, even in city traffic. Suzuki has also equipped the scooter with their SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology, which optimizes power delivery without compromising on mileage.
3. Design – Simple Yet Elegant
The Suzuki Access 125 may not have flashy, aggressive styling like some sporty scooters, but that is its strength. It has a timeless, elegant design that appeals to all age groups. The chrome accents on the headlamp, mirrors, and side panels give it a premium feel.
The scooter also offers a wide and comfortable seat, which is perfect for both rider and pillion. The seat height is just 773mm, which makes it very easy for shorter riders to handle as well. It is a scooter that blends style with practicality, and that is why so many people choose it.
4. Comfort – Great for Daily Use
Comfort is a big factor when you ride every day, and the Suzuki Access 125 does not disappoint. It has telescopic front suspension and swing arm rear suspension, which absorb bumps and potholes effectively.
The riding position is upright and relaxed, and the floorboard offers enough space for your legs or even carrying small bags. The seat is soft and spacious, so even long rides around the city don’t feel tiring. I have personally taken this scooter on a 40 km non-stop ride, and I felt no discomfort at all.
5. Storage – Practical and Spacious
One of the highlights of the Suzuki Access 125 is its practicality. It has 21.8 liters of under-seat storage, which is enough to fit a half-face helmet, grocery bags, or other daily essentials.
In addition to that, it has front hooks for carrying shopping bags and an optional USB charging socket to charge your phone on the go. For people who use scooters as their daily transportation, these features make life a lot easier.
6. Brakes and Safety – Reliable Stopping Power
The scooter is available with front disc brake (in higher variants) and drum brakes on both wheels (in the base variant). The braking performance is reliable, and the scooter also comes with Combined Braking System (CBS).
CBS ensures that when you apply the left brake lever, both front and rear brakes are applied together, providing safer and more balanced braking, especially for beginners. Tyres are tubeless, which means even if you get a puncture, air doesn’t leak out immediately, giving you time to reach a repair shop.
7. Build Quality and Durability – Built to Last
One of the key reasons people trust Suzuki is build quality. The Access 125 feels sturdy and well-made. The panels are strong, the paint quality is good, and the scooter doesn’t start rattling even after years of use if maintained properly.
Resale value is also a big advantage. Since Suzuki scooters are known for reliability, you can easily sell the Access 125 in the second-hand market and get a good price compared to many other scooters.
8. Price and Value for Money
Finally, the Suzuki Access 125 is competitively priced. It is not the cheapest scooter in the market, but considering what you get – good engine, comfort, mileage, reliability, and resale value – it offers excellent value for money.
In India, the price starts from around ₹80,000 (ex-showroom) for the base drum variant and goes up for disc and connected models. For this price, you are getting a scooter that can serve you reliably for many years without giving you headaches.
MY OPINION
As I mentioned earlier, I have personally ridden this scooter many times. What I love the most is how lightweight and easy to ride it feels. Even in heavy traffic, you can maneuver it effortlessly. Starting it in the morning is never an issue – thanks to Suzuki’s easy start system.
Another big plus is service network. In my town, Suzuki’s service is good. They don’t overcharge, and spare parts are reasonably priced. This makes ownership stress-free.
The only small drawback I felt is that it doesn’t have that “sporty thrill” some other scooters offer. If you are looking for aggressive looks and sporty performance, this may not excite you. But if you want a reliable, practical, and comfortable daily ride, you will not regret buying it.
