YAMAHA MT-15 GST REDUCED
The Government of India has announced some exciting news for all citizens, especially for bike enthusiasts. The central government has reduced taxes on certain motorcycles, making it easier and more affordable for people to buy new bikes. This is particularly good news for young riders and daily commuters looking for powerful yet lightweight bikes.
One of the most popular bikes in this category is the Yamaha MT-15. Known for its aggressive design, smooth handling, and sporty performance, the MT-15 has always been a favorite among urban riders. With the new tax reduction, this bike becomes even more accessible.
Before the new announcement, bikes like the MT-15 were subjected to GST of 28% along with road and registration taxes. Now, the government has reduced the GST to 18%, and road taxes have also been decreased by 5-7%, depending on the state.
This means buyers can enjoy a total cost reduction of around 10-15%, making it easier to purchase a bike like the MT-15 without stretching their budget.
For example, if the Yamaha MT-15 ex-showroom price was ₹1,50,000, with the new GST and tax reductions, buyers can expect to pay around ₹1,30,000 to ₹1,32,000 depending on the state. That is a saving of roughly ₹18,000 to ₹20,000, which is significant for young riders or first-time buyers.
