QJ Motor SRK 400 – Chinese Technology
The QJ Motor SRK 400 is one of those motorcycles that quietly sits in the sports bike category but does not always get the global recognition it deserves. The brand, QJ Motor, comes from China. Now, whenever we hear “Chinese brand,” there is usually a mixed reaction. Some people think Chinese bikes are only about affordability, while others understand that China has made huge progress in technology, especially in the two-wheeler segment. QJ Motor belongs to the second category – they have been working on technology, design, and performance at a serious level.
I personally had the chance to test this motorcycle. I rode it for about 60 kilometers in one stretch, and I can confidently say that the bike gave me a very enjoyable experience. It is smooth, powerful, and quite comfortable for city as well as highway riding. From my ride, I realized one thing: this bike may not be extremely famous in countries like India or Europe because of tough competition from other established brands, but in China, the SRK 400 enjoys massive popularity. Among the youth, it is considered a stylish, affordable, and exciting bike.
The biggest issue for QJ Motor is not the product itself but the way it is marketed. In many countries, people simply don’t know about it because marketing and brand presence are limited. Add to that the fact that competition from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and KTM is extremely strong. In such a situation, even a capable machine like the SRK 400 becomes underrated.
Still, if we look at the bike purely from a rider’s perspective, it is a very good option. The comfort level is impressive, the design is attractive, and the performance is decent for the price. However, QJ Motor can make it even better by reducing the price slightly, promoting the bike more aggressively in global markets, and improving the build quality for long-term durability.
So, before you decide whether to buy this bike or not, let’s go through the specifications and see how they perform in real-world conditions.

1. Engine and Performance
The QJ Motor SRK 400 comes with a 400cc parallel-twin engine. This means it uses two cylinders working together in parallel, giving the bike smooth acceleration and a sportier feel compared to a single-cylinder engine. The engine is liquid-cooled, which means it stays at an optimal temperature even during long rides or heavy traffic conditions.
In my experience, the engine feels refined when you start the bike and open the throttle. The vibration levels are minimal, which makes it comfortable for longer journeys. You don’t feel tired because the bike doesn’t shake too much at higher speeds.
For a sports category bike, this performance is quite good. It is not as powerful as a Kawasaki Ninja 400, but for the price and brand, the QJ Motor SRK 400 gives enough punch to satisfy new riders and even intermediate bikers.
2. Power and Torque
The engine produces around 41 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and about 37 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. What does this mean in simple words? Horsepower is basically the raw strength of the bike, and torque is the pulling force. Together, they decide how quickly the bike accelerates and how easily it handles speed.
When I rode it, the bike accelerated smoothly and gave me enough confidence when overtaking other vehicles. The power delivery is not aggressive like some superbikes, but it is balanced and predictable, which makes it good for both beginners and experienced riders.
This combination of power and torque also means you can take the bike on highways without worrying if it will run out of breath. At the same time, it is manageable in city traffic without feeling too heavy or uncontrollable.
3. Design and Styling
The QJ Motor SRK 400 has a very sharp and sporty design. From the front, it almost looks like a premium sports bike with an aggressive headlamp setup and muscular tank. The seating position is slightly sporty, meaning you lean a bit forward, but not too much. This makes it comfortable for daily use as well as occasional long rides.
What I liked about the design is that it doesn’t look cheap. Many people assume Chinese bikes cut corners in styling, but this one has a proper international sports bike appeal. It can easily compete in terms of looks with KTM Duke or Kawasaki Z series bikes.
The build quality, however, is where QJ Motor still has some room for improvement. The bike feels solid but not as robust as Japanese motorcycles. If they improve material quality and finish, the SRK 400 will look and feel even more premium.
4. Comfort and Riding Experience
For me, this was the highlight. I rode the bike for nearly 60 kilometers in mixed conditions – some parts city, some parts open highway. The suspension absorbed bumps well, the seat was firm but not painful, and the overall riding triangle (seat height, handlebar, and footpeg position) was comfortable.
Unlike some aggressive sports bikes where your back starts hurting after a while, the SRK 400 manages to balance sportiness and comfort. It is sporty enough to give you that adrenaline rush but relaxed enough to handle longer rides.
If QJ Motor promotes this bike well, I think many people who want a practical sports bike will appreciate this comfort level.
5. Brakes and Safety Features
The bike comes with disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS. This means you get strong braking power with added safety. ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) ensures that your wheels don’t lock during sudden braking, especially on slippery surfaces.
During my ride, the brakes felt reliable and gave me good confidence even when I had to stop quickly. For a 400cc bike, strong brakes are essential, and QJ Motor has done a good job here.
Safety-wise, this is a well-equipped bike. Beginners will find it less intimidating because the ABS gives extra control, while experienced riders will appreciate the smooth braking performance.
6. Mileage and Efficiency
Sports bikes are not known for high mileage, and the SRK 400 is no exception. On average, it gives around 25-28 km per liter depending on your riding style and road conditions. If you push the bike too hard, mileage will drop closer to 22 km per liter. If you ride calmly, you might get slightly better numbers.
For a twin-cylinder 400cc engine, this mileage is reasonable. It won’t burn your pocket too much, but of course, it’s not as fuel-efficient as a commuter bike. If you are planning to buy it, you need to be okay with this fuel economy.
7. Price and Value for Money
This is where things get interesting. The QJ Motor SRK 400 is priced lower than Japanese and European bikes in the same category. That makes it a good choice for budget-conscious buyers who still want a sporty and powerful bike.
However, in some markets, the price difference is not too huge, and people prefer to spend a little more to get a Honda, Yamaha, or Kawasaki because of brand trust and resale value. This is the main reason the SRK 400 is underrated outside China.
In my opinion, if QJ Motor wants global success, they need to lower the price slightly and expand their service network. The bike is very good, but buyers also need peace of mind regarding service, parts, and resale.
MY OPINION
The QJ Motor SRK 400 is an underrated sports bike that delivers good performance, attractive design, and comfortable riding at a price lower than many competitors. In China, it enjoys a strong fan following, especially among young riders. But in other countries, it struggles because of tough competition, lack of brand recognition, and slightly higher pricing compared to local expectations.
From my personal ride experience, I can say it is a very enjoyable bike. Comfortable, powerful enough, stylish, and fun to ride. The only areas of improvement are build quality, aggressive pricing, and better global promotion.
If you are someone looking for a mid-sized sports bike that is different from the crowd and offers good value, the SRK 400 is definitely worth considering. Just remember, brand trust and resale might not be as strong as Japanese brands. But purely as a machine, it is a solid performer.
